Add the stars
Zara loads 4 stars. Then 3 more stars. Don't start at 1! Say 4. Count on. 5, 6, 7. Seven stars! 4 + 3 = 7.
Adding zero
What is 0 + 8? Zero means none. Zara has no stars. Then she adds 8 stars. That makes 8. Watch out! Zero adds nothing. 0 + 8 = 8, not 9.
