For parents
How it works
Kids Figure It Out decides what your kid does each day, from how they've answered so far. Here is what it looks at and why.
One button, one thing a day
Your kid opens the app and presses one big button. Behind it, the app has picked the one thing that helps most today:
- A Learn day: a short picture-book lesson with the teacher, then 15 questions on that one skill.
- A Practice day: a mix of the skills they've started, each at its own difficulty.
- A Re-teach day: when a skill is stuck, its lesson again, then questions on it.
- A Level Test: when every skill in the level is ready.
New skills never land in the middle of a mix: each one starts with its own lesson.
Easy, then Medium, then Hard
Every skill has up to three difficulty tiers. Your kid works on the first one they haven't cleared. A tier is judged on their latest 20 answers at it, and clears at 90% right (on Easy, also mostly in time). Nothing is decided before 10 answers, so one lucky or unlucky question never moves a skill.
Each tier has its own short lesson part. When your kid moves up to Medium or Hard, the next Learn day plays that part first.
When they're stuck
If a skill stays below 70% right over several sessions on at least three different days, the app treats it as stuck. It stops piling on the same questions: they get a little easier and fewer, the lesson comes back, and the Parent Portal tells you. A stuck skill never fills a whole session, so practice doesn't turn into a run of misses.
Sessions that fit your kid
You choose how long a session is, from 15 to 40 minutes. The app turns that into a number of questions from your kid's own pace, in batches of 10. If answers suddenly drop off late in a session, it ends on a good note instead of counting tired answers against them.
Level Tests and review
When every skill in a level has cleared its Medium tier, the Level Test opens. Passing opens the next level. If a test doesn't go well, the skills it found weak get their own practice, and the test comes back on another day.
Learned skills don't disappear. Each one comes back for a quick check 7, 15, 30, 60 and 90 days after it was mastered. Pass the last check and it's retired for good.
Coins and streaks, kindly
Kids earn coins for good work and never lose them for mistakes. A daily streak counts days with a finished session, and streak shields can protect a missed day, though never two in a row.
What parents see
Behind your Parent PIN, the Parent Portal shows each kid's skills, sessions and every question from the last 30 days, with what they answered. It flags skills that are stuck or struggling, and you can move a kid on from a skill or open a level early.
