How the lesson starts: Addition Means Put Together

1. Pond party!

   Hi friend! This is Pip the frog. Pip is having a pond party. Some frogs sit on a log. More frogs hop over. How many frogs in all? Let's find out!

2. Put them together

   Look at the log. 3 frogs sit there. Then 2 frogs hop in. Put them together. Count every frog. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Five frogs in all!

3. Find the right picture

   Which picture shows 4 and 2 put together? Count the 4 first. Then keep going. 5, 6. Six frogs! Pick the picture with 6. Not 4, and not 2. Those are just one group.
