How the lesson starts: Equal Shares: Halves and Fourths

1. A bear picnic

   It's picnic day! Bruno and Bella are bears. They have one sandwich. They both want some! How can they share it fairly? Let's find out.

2. Equal parts

   Cut the sandwich down the middle. 2 pieces, the same size. Those are equal parts! A crooked cut makes a tiny piece. And a big piece. Not equal!

3. Tap the right one

   Tap the square cut into 4 equal parts. A has 4 parts, all the same. Yes! B has 4 parts, but some are tiny. No! C has 2 equal parts. Watch out! Count the parts and check they match.
