Understand Tens and Ones
How the lesson starts: Understand Tens and Ones

Lulu's eggs
Good morning! Farmer Lulu's hens laid lots of eggs. Cluck, cluck! Lulu packs 10 eggs in each carton. Let's count tens and ones with Lulu!
A carton is a ten
Lulu fills a carton. 10 eggs! That's 1 ten. She fills one more. 2 tens. 3 eggs are left over. Those are ones. 2 tens and 3 ones!
Count tens and ones
Here are eggs as blocks. Count the rods. 5 rods, so 5 tens. Count the cubes. 8 cubes, so 8 ones. Put 5 in Tens. Put 8 in Ones. Watch out! Don't swap them.
