How the lesson starts: Use Illustrations with Story Details

  1. Meet Iggy the artist

Hi friend! Meet Iggy the iguana. Iggy paints pictures for storybooks. The words tell the story. The picture must match the words!

  2. Which picture matches?

Iggy reads the words. The cat sat on the bed. Which picture matches? A dog on a bed? No. A cat in a house? No. A cat on a bed? Yes! It shows the same thing.

  3. Let's check the frog

Iggy reads: The frog sat on a log. Check who. A frog! Check where. On a log! A duck on a log? Wrong animal. A frog in a cup? Wrong place. A frog on a log matches both!
