How the lesson starts: Compare Themes and Event Patterns Across Texts

Luna's tale jars
Luna the bat runs the Nightlight Library. She collects tales from all over the world in glowing jars. One night she notices something amazing. Two tales from faraway places sound almost the same!
Two tales
In a seaside tale, Sefa frees a turtle from a net. Later, the turtle guides her home through a storm. In a mountain tale, Doru feeds a hungry eagle. Later, the eagle leads him home through fog.
The shared big idea
What do both tales care about? Both heroes are kind to an animal. Both animals help them later. So both tales share one message: kindness comes back to those who give it. A turtle or an eagle is just a detail.
