The Word Railway
All aboard the Word Railway! Conductor Lupe the llama links word cars in pairs. Some pairs match in meaning. Some pairs are opposites. Your job is to read which kind of pair she wants.
Same or opposite
Synonyms are words with almost the same meaning, like scarce and rare, or ancient and old. Antonyms are opposites, like scarce and plentiful, or ancient and modern.
Let's match three cars
Lupe says: match each word to its opposite. Conceal means hide, so its opposite is reveal. Brief means short, so its opposite is lengthy. Ancient means very old, so its opposite is modern. Watch out: read the directions first!
