Read analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes and understand AM/PM contexts.

How the lesson starts: Read Time to Five Minutes

1. Olive the owl's clock

   Hi friend! Meet Olive the owl. Owl school starts at seven o'clock. Her clock has two hands. The short hand shows the hour. The long hand shows the minutes. Let's read it!

2. Count by fives

   Here the short blue hand is just past the 4. So the hour is 4. The long red hand is on the 4. Each number is five minutes, so count by fives: 5, 10, 15, 20. It's 4:20!

3. Let's read 3:35

   Olive's clock: the short hand is just past the 3, so the hour is 3. The long hand points to the 7. Count by fives seven times: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. It's 3:35!
