1. Rosa's cupcake rush

   Hi there, friend! Baker Rosa runs a busy cupcake shop. This morning she baked 243 cupcakes. This afternoon she baked 125 more. How many cupcakes is that? Let's add!

2. Boxes, trays and cupcakes

   Rosa packs 100 cupcakes in a box and 10 on a tray. Here is 243: 2 boxes, 4 trays, 3 cupcakes. Here is 125. Put them together: 3 boxes, 6 trays, 8 cupcakes. That's 368!

3. Let's add 156 + 128

   Next day: 156 + 128. Start with the ones: 6 + 8 = 14. That's too many ones! Write 4 and carry 1 ten. Tens: 5 + 2 + 1 = 8. Hundreds: 1 + 1 = 2. The answer is 284!
