1. Lulu's balloon fest

   Welcome to Lulu's Balloon Festival! There are so many balloons. Drawing each one would take all day! So Lulu makes a picture graph. Each balloon picture stands for 5 balloons.

2. Read the key

   Here's the red balloon row. It has 4 balloon pictures. The key says each one means 5. So count by fives: 5, 10, 15, 20. There are 20 red balloons!

3. Let's read a row

   This row has 6 balloon pictures. Some kids just say 6. But look at the key first! Each picture means 2 balloons. Count by twos: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. That's 12 balloons, not 6!
