1. Captain Molly's ship

   Ahoy, friend! Captain Molly's pirate ship is out at sea, at buoy 43. Her ship can only dock at the ten docks: 40, 50 or 60. Which dock is closest? Let's find out!

2. Count the steps

   Here is the sea from 40 to 50. There is dock 40. There is dock 50. Molly's ship is at 43. Back to 40 is just 3 steps. On to 50 is 7 steps. So 40 is closer!

3. Let's find 67's dock

   67 is closest to which ten: 60, 70 or 80? First, find the two tens on each side: 60 and 70. The ones digit is 7. That's 5 or more, so sail up. 67 is closest to 70!
