1. All aboard, Pip!

   Toot toot! Meet Pip the penguin. Pip drives the Snowy Express train. Trains must leave right on time. So Pip reads the clock to the exact minute. Let's help Pip!

2. Fives, then ones

   Here is the station clock. The short orange hand is just past the 3, so the hour is 3. The long teal hand is 2 little ticks past the 5. Count by fives to 25. Then count on by ones: 26, 27. It's 3:27!

3. The sneaky hour hand

   What time is it? The long hand is 2 ticks past the 10. Count by fives: 50. Then ones: 51, 52. The short hand is almost at the 9, but it hasn't reached it! So the hour is still 8. It's 8:52, not 9:52.
