Classify 3D Solids & Their Properties

How the lesson starts: Classify 3D Solids & Their Properties

  1. Milo's Block Factory

Welcome to Milo's Block Factory! Every day, the machines pop out wooden blocks in all kinds of 3D shapes. Milo needs help sorting them into the right bins. Let's learn each solid's name and count its parts!

  2. Prisms and pyramids

A triangular prism and a rectangular prism each have two matching bases joined by rectangles. A square pyramid and a triangular pyramid have just one base, with triangles meeting at a point. The base shape gives each solid its name!

  3. Flat or curvy?

A cube has only flat faces shaped like polygons, so it's a polyhedron. Prisms and pyramids are polyhedra too. But a cylinder, a cone and a sphere have curved surfaces. Curvy solids are not polyhedra!
