Compare Two Versions of a Story

Compare and contrast two versions of the same or similar story, including versions by different authors or cultures.

How the lesson starts: Compare Two Versions of a Story

  1. One tale, two tellers

Auntie Rosa lives in a hot desert. Grandpa Tomas lives in a green jungle. They both know a tale about a lost rain cloud. But each one tells it a little differently!

  2. Text A and Text B

Text A. In a hot desert, the rain cloud got lost. A lizard sang a loud song. The cloud floated home. Text B. In a green jungle, the rain cloud got lost. A frog drummed on a log. The cloud floated home.

  3. Same in both

Find what happens in both. Does a lizard sing in both? No, only in Text A. Does the rain cloud get lost in both? Yes! Does the cloud float home in both? Yes!
