  1. All aboard the Word Train!

    Toot toot! This is Rosa the raccoon. She drives the Word Train. Some words have a car hooked on the front or the back. Each of those little cars carries a meaning. Today you learn what the cars mean!

  2. Front cars: prefixes

    A car on the front of a word is a prefix. Un and non mean not. Re means again. Dis means the opposite of. Mis means wrongly. Pre means before. Over means too much, and under means below or not enough.

  3. Back cars: suffixes

    A car on the back of a word is a suffix. Ful means full of. Less means without. Able means can be done. Er and or mean one who. Ly means in a way. Ment and ion mean the act of. Ness means the state of being.
