The Apostrophe Agency

Mo's owner chart
Mo asks one question. How many owners? One owner gets apostrophe S. Many owners ending in S get just the apostrophe. Plurals like children or mice, with no S at the end, get apostrophe S.
Count the owners
The hat belongs to one dog. One owner, so write dog, apostrophe, S. The dog's hat. Now the bowl belongs to two dogs. Dogs already ends in S, so just add the apostrophe. The dogs' bowl. Plain dogs, with no mark, owns nothing.
