Multi-Step Measurement Problems
How the lesson starts: Multi-Step Measurement Problems

Off to Camp Pinecone
Hi, happy camper! Nora and Eli are packing for Camp Pinecone. Their camping jobs take two steps, and the units are mixed up. The plan: make the units match, do the math, then answer with units!
Cutting the rope
Nora has a 3 meter rope. She cuts it into pieces 50 cm long. How many pieces? First, make the units match: 3 m = 300 cm. Now count the 50 cm hops: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Six pieces!
Heavy backpacks
Eli carries 6 food bags. Each weighs 500 g. 6 × 500 = 3,000 g. But the question asks for kilograms, so divide by 1,000. That's 3 kg! Watch out: answer in the unit the question asks for.
