  1. Ika paints with words

    This is Ika the octopus. Ika paints pictures with words! A kite flew. That is plain. A red kite flew. Now you can see it! Describing words add the color.

  2. Adjectives tell about things

    An adjective tells about a noun. It can tell color, size, or what something is like. The red kite flew. The tiny fish swam. Red tells about the kite. Tiny tells about the fish.

  3. Ika picks a paint

    The, blank, crab danced. Which word tells about the crab? Ika tries slowly. The slowly crab? No! Jumped? The jumped crab? No! Happy tells what the crab is like. The happy crab danced!
