How the lesson starts: Grade 3 Bridge: Common Latin Suffixes

  1. Bao's Toy Test Lab

This is Bao the panda. Bao tests toys all day long. Can you wash it? Can you bend it? Bao writes big words on her test cards. Let's find their endings!

  2. Three endings

Look at the end of these words. Washable ends with able. Visible ends with ible. Invitation ends with ation. These endings are called suffixes.

  3. Bao finds the suffix

Bao's card says decoration. Dec, or, ation. Which part is the suffix? Look at the very end. Ation! It rhymes with station. Dec and or come before it.
