How the lesson starts: Grade 3 Bridge: Self-Correct in Harder Text

  1. Gus reads a bedtime story

Meet Gus the goat. Gus reads to his little sister Lulu every night. Tonight he read, it was cold, so I put on my cot. Wait! A cot is a little bed. You can't wear a bed!

  2. One letter, big mix-up

Gus looks closely. Cot and coat look almost the same. Just one letter is different! Which one do you put on when it is cold? A coat! Now it makes sense.

  3. Looks close and makes sense

Lulu reads, Dad cooked eggs in a hot pen. She tries pin, because it looks close. But can you cook eggs in a pin? No way! The new word must look close and make sense. Pan!
