How the lesson starts: Use Capitals, Punctuation, and Apostrophes

  1. Pim delivers the mail

Brrr! Meet Pim, a penguin who delivers the mail. Pim loves neat notes. Capital letters and end marks make notes easy to read. Let's help Pim!

  2. Capital letters

Capital letters start every sentence. They also start names, places, days, and months. The word I is always a capital! We visited Texas in June. Kai and I swim on Monday.

  3. Pim checks three notes

Which note is right? Is today monday? Monday is a day, so it needs a capital. Is today Monday. That asks, so it needs a question mark. Is today Monday? Capital day, question mark. Perfect!
