Compare Stories by the Same Author
Compare and contrast themes, settings, plots, or recurring characters in literary texts by the same author or in a related series.
How the lesson starts: Compare Stories by the Same Author

Wren's book series
Meet Wren, a bird who writes books. All her books star Mo the mole and his friend Nell the rabbit. Same author, same hero, new adventures! Let's compare two of Wren's stories, part by part.
Two stories
Story A. Mo digs a tunnel to Nell's spring party. He hits a giant rock, but he digs around it all by himself. Story B. In winter, snow hides Mo's carrots. He asks Nell to help, and together they find them.
Let's compare part by part
Compare one part at a time. Main character: Mo in both. Same! Setting: a tunnel in spring, then a snowy garden. Different! Problem: a rock, then lost carrots. Different! Who helps: nobody, then Nell. Different!
