  1. Rumi's word kitchen

Welcome to Rumi's word kitchen! Rumi the raccoon cooks with words. Plain words are like plain rice. Strong, vivid words add flavor. Let's taste some sentences!

  2. Plain or powerful?

Taste these two sentences. The wind moved through the trees. Plain! The wind roared through the trees. Now you can hear it! Roared makes a loud, strong picture in your mind.

  3. Let's pick the spice

The tiny mouse, blank, across the floor. Rumi has three words: went, moved, and scurried. Went and moved are plain. They could be anything! Scurried shows quick little feet. You can see the mouse. Scurried wins!
