Control Verb Forms and Modals
Form and use progressive verb tenses, common irregular verbs, and modal auxiliaries to express time, possibility, permission, and necessity.
How the lesson starts: Control Verb Forms and Modals

Ziggy's time shell
This is Ziggy, a tortoise with a clock on her shell. Tap it, and Ziggy zips through time! But in every time, her verbs must change. Yesterday at 4:00, we blank a snow fort. What goes there?
Building a going-on verb
Some verbs show action that keeps going. We were building a snow fort. It needs a helper verb, like was or were. Then add a verb with I N G. Were, build, ing. Were building!
Ziggy's time trip
Watch Ziggy's helpers change. Yesterday at 4:00, Ziggy was baking. Right now, Ziggy is painting. Tomorrow at 4:00, Ziggy will be walking. Find the time clue first. It picks the helper.
