How the lesson starts: Use Context to Unlock Words

  1. Ranger Tupa's tracks

    Deep in the rainforest, Ranger Tupa the tapir tracks wild words. When she meets a word she doesn't know, she never panics. She looks at the tracks around it: the other words in the sentence.

  2. Signal words

    The easiest tracks come with signal words. Or, which means, and in other words hand you the meaning right there. The trail was arid, or very dry. The river was immense, which means extremely large.

  3. Let's track devoured

    The sentence says: the wolf pups devoured their dinner, which means ate very quickly. Find the word: devoured. Find the signal: which means. The words after it are the meaning. Devoured means ate very quickly!
